Much has been made of the shadow effect on some of the neighbors. As it turned out studies were done but St. James’ agent, Mr. Lickenheld , chose not to submit the computer generated pictures to the Planning Department. The Planning Department instead went and did their own guess of the shadow effect.
The following pictures were obtained from Mike Mattus, 320 Church Street ,when Father Geary was attempting to talk Mike into stopping his formal protest and give Father “a price” to sell his property to the church.
An excellent bargaining technic—show the seller how much he will be in the dark if he does not sell.
The first series are for a slightly shorter church (67’10’’ versus the requested 70 feet). However note shadows until 11 AM, full sun is available less than one hour in December/January for the kitchen area of the home.

Here are the shadow-effects for a flat roof. They were also given to Mike by Father Geary. These may become important because the church maybe changing its building/site plan. See later posting or click on following: http://boonecountycatholics.blogspot.com/2011/07/is-st-james-admitting-that-there-is.html
FLAT ROOF—54 FEET HIGH
Here are some more shadow pictures—however where is the analysis for the other neighbors such as the neighbors across Caswell Street or the other neighbor on Church Street?
These are if the church is moved 15 feet towards the school.
